Pagerank prediction tool test

Well.. I have to do this too. Everybody in DP and SeoPedia keeps bugging me about these Pagerank prediction tools.

I decided to take on the iWebTool, RustyBrick, Raketforskning, Futurerank and Seotime Pagerank Prediction Tools . Now i always thought the Rustybrick tool as being a toy. It regularly gives PR10 predictions for numerous websites (which is rather weird and totally not possible). With the newly emerged iWebTool, things might change (as far as i can see they use a fairly organic prediction method, using own internal Google PR calculation schemes).

And from what i noticed (i am pretty sure about this) the last 4 tools (all except Rustybrick) use the same method for the PR prediction. Just that Futurerank actually shows you predictions for each of the cheked DC’s, while Seotime, Rakerforskning and iWebTool automatically choose the highest prediction from all the DC’s.

I still think Rustybrick is the most deceptive of them all, showing really impossible results. The others are at least “human”.

There is another pagerank prediction tool, proudly found and researched by Roman1 over at Digital Point forums, based on Dmoz as well as the Google Directory (the website must be in DMOZ for this “prediction tool” to be viable) and Digitalpoint members have all been trying to figure it out. Since all my websites or the websites i have in DMOZ are either not calculable trough this method, or don’t have enough sorrounding category websites to achive the prediction, i can’t say my thing. I’ll watch the outcome though.

Ah… I never trusted such tools, but all that remains to me now, with just days, or weeks before this PR update, is to wait and see the results.

  2. What does your tool represent actually ? I can;t seem to find any words about that in your website, or any help at all. What i’m interested is your definition of “live” and how do you calculate the results.

  6. So far only Iweb gave me results that I can trust. Their results match the PR I belive they will have at the next update by cheking the websites position in google directory.

  7. I suppose that the basic algorithm for rendering future page rank would have to do somehow with the number of backlinks that google offers upon a detailed search on that website. However I seriously doubt the accuracy of this sites in actually predicting future pagerank as some of the backlinks could have higher page rank and thus a site with few backlinks could actually have a high page rank and once tested in these future page rank prediction tools it could so with page rank 0 or somehow better , but far from the truth.

  11. Hi there, I believe iwebtool to be the most accurate too. I have a fairly new site (about 1 month or so old) http://splunks.com that is PR0 and iwebtool predicts a PR4. Does anyone know when I might expect to see the change? Or when G does their PR toolbar updates?

  17. Well this collection made me happy and sad.

    I love iwebtools for the fact that only they are showing some sympathy for all the work I have done for my site Movie Download Sites. Its current PR is 1 and iWeb predicts a increase to 4.1. Others all stay close to 0.8 – 1.2

    I know its still a prediction but they must have taken some similar steps/calculations to predict, then why so much difference.

  20. All predictor tools are not give accurate results. Some will show that pr 2 to 4 and some shows 2 to 0.iwebtool is good but i think it use data from msn. From some days msn is not showing backlink by using link:domain.com and from that day the iweb pr predictor tool give a message that pr cannot determine…

  21. Hello I am trying to check our future pagerank but all checkers seem to fail. Can anyone tell me if the checkers are down? Usually I use Iwebtool but this one has been down for a long time. :(

  36. Olha, o iWebtool não têm funcionado direito para sites brasileiros (.com.br), apenas para sites .com. Alguém sabe por que isso? Antes funcionava. ENGLISH: People, iWebTool haven’t working for sites .com.br, only .com, .net… anyone knows why? In the past, it worked.

  37. I agree with all you guys who think that prediction is for fun only, I test many websites the result was very funny. Futurerank using PR prediction from iwebtool so the result exactly the same.

    I just wish that Google will update their PR soon.

I have published several websites and iwebtool always seems to be the most accurate for me. it is also within plus or minus 1 page rank. right now i am work on an asian indian wedding site called Your Asian Wedding. it has a page rank of 0 but Iwebtool is predicting 4 with 83% accuracy. il keep you posted on what it actually turns out to be.

  43. Some days ago iWebTool said that i didn’t have enough backlinks, but today it seem all working again.
    Still curious when pagerank update happen.

  46. There was a serious disruption in PageRank recently, wasn’t there (with lots of pages having their rank downgraded).
    I wonder what page rank prediction tool could predict that ;)
